Canadian rock band Sum 41 is back with a stellar new album, "13 Voices," (available now via Hopeless Records) and hitting the road in support of the new disc which debuted at number #9 on the Billboard Top Album charts. The band stopped by the Riverside Municipal Auditorium last Wednesday night for a triumphant show full of classic tunes and theatrical bombast.
Dubbed the "Don't Call It a Sum-back Tour," the tour finds the band celebrating 20 years as a pop-punk force. The tour also finds lead singer Deryck Whibley back at the peak of his prowess as frontman after a courageous and hard fought recovery from alcoholism. As I took in moments from the show in between grabbing shots of their set, there was no doubt in my mind: Sum 41 is back and they're better than ever.
