The Japanese psychedelic-rock band Kikagaku Moyo formed in 2012 and evolved from a free music collective into a group of five multi-instrumentalists hailing from Tokyo. Kikagaku Moyo was quickly discovered by the Greek label Cosmic Eye/ Sound Effect Records who released the group's first 12" LP. This helped to circulate Kikagaku Moyo's music and created enough momentum to send the band on their first tour, which took place in Australia. The group has since released projects Forest of Lost Children and Mammatus Clouds.
Kikagaku Moyo is getting ready to release their new album House In The Tall Grass on May 13th. As a preview to the album, the group has shared their single "Kogarashi", which is now streaming online. "Kogarashi" is a melodic and brilliant daydream that encapsulates the warmth of an Autumn afternoon within the song's soft tonal breeze. The song is reminiscent of 60's psychedelic rock fuzed with modern folk, and if it is any indication of the quality of the rest of the album, House In The Tall Grass is going to be killer.
